New Delhi : Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi came to a halt, albeit temporarily in Jammu Kashmir after mob rush into the march gets out of hand. The incident took place Thursday evening.
As the Bharat Jodo march entered Banihal in Qazigund, the outer cordon of police simply disappeared, raising security concerns. The Congress accused the state govt for withdrawing security personnel from around Rahul Gandhi and demanded action against those responsible for the breach. “Who ordered this,” asked AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal.
The march resumed Friday morning after security was restored and is currently in Kashmir’s Anantnag District. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah also joined the Yatra while at Banihal.
