Relief To The Poor Despite Govt’s Covid Financial Crisis : 2-month Welfare Pensions In 1st Week Of August

Thiruvananthapuram :  Welfare pensions for month of July and August will be remitted to beneficiaries in 1st week of August, Finance Minister KN Balagopal announced. Government seeks to  bring relief to the poor despite the financial crisis it confronts from Covid conditions, said the minister. The impoverished festive season  this time will see lumpsum Rs 3200 in in people’s hands. Welfare pensions benefit over 55 lakh people in the state and will cost state exchequer a neat  Rs 1600 crore, the minister added.
