Renowned Screenplay Writer Dennis Joseph Passes Away

Kottayam : Renowned screenplay writer Dennis Joseph has died following what’s considered on preliminary findings as heart attack. The end came on arrival at a private hospital in Kottayam.

Dennis Joseph debuted into Malayalam film industry 1985 with script writing for “Eeran Sandhya”. Later lines woven into scenes from Dennis elated several actprs  including Mohanlal and Mamooty to lasting superstardom. Dennis penned some of the biggest blockbusters starring including 1987 Mamooty starrer “New Delhi”. The film cast comprised Sumalatha, Suresh Gopi, Urvashi, B Thyagarajan, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Mohan Jose, Devan and Jagannatha varma   and inspired multi-lingual remakes at the time. .

Dennis made his directorial debut with Mamooty starrer “Manu Uncle”. The critically acclaimed film won National Award. His films written for Mohanlal include Bhoomiyile Rajakanmar, Rajavinte Makan and Gandhavarm.

Dennis Joseph breathed his last before arrival at the hospital. Hence further examination shall be conducted to ascertain the cause of death, which is currently presumed to have resulted from a massive cardiac arrest.
