Cairo>The Israeli army has directed to close Al Jazeera's bureau in Ramallah, West Bank, for a period of 45 days. This directive follows a raid conducted by the army at Al Jazeera's office early Sunday morning. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate has described this ban as a new violation against media activities which exposes crimes against the Palestinian people.
During a live broadcast, masked soldiers armed with weapons entered the Al Jazeera office and handed a closure order to the bureau chief Walid Al Omari. They did not provide a reason for the decision," Al Jazeera reported. Al Jazeera broadcasted live footage of the Israeli army entering the office and issuing the closure order.
