With the group stages kicking off, Champions League group stage battle continues, each team eager to out-do the other. March day 2 witnessed iconic performances by several teams.

Results :
Inter Milan vs Shakhtar Donetsk : 0 – 0
Inter Milan drew nil – nil with Shakhtar Donetsk after what seemed to be an evenly matched contest, with each team keeping the other from scoring.
Ajax vs Besiktas : 2 – 0
Goals : Berghuis - 17’
              Haller - 43’
Ajax managed to secure a win with2 goals against Besiktas in the first half, Steven Berghuis opened the score sheet with an early goal. Haller grabbed a second goal for Ajax at the 43rd minute, going into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

Real Madrid vs Sheriff : 1 – 2

Sheriff managed to secure a 2 – 0 win against Real Madrid. A game that almost seemed to be in Real’s favour until Sheriff scored a late game winner. Sebastian Thill scored the last moment volley to take Sheriff back in the lead after Benzema drew level with a penalty for Real.

AC Milan vs Atletico : 1 – 2

AC conceded a 2-1 loss against Atletico in a drama packed match. Milan grabbed an early lead with a 20th minute goal. Atletico bounced back in the 84th minute after Griezmann scored an equalizer. Suarez secured the win during injury time with a penalty. Milan’s Kiessie received a red card at the 29th minute which altered the course of the match.

Dortmund vs Sporting : 1 – 0

Dortmund took home a win against sporting. Donyell Malen scored the winning goal for Dortmund, giving them a 1 – 0 victory.

PSG vs Manchester City : 2 – 0
Goals : PSG

Messi – 74’

PSG grabbed their group stage win against Manchester City. Idrissa Gueye launched PSG ahead with an early goal just 8 minutes into the game, taking them into halftime on a 1-nil goal advantage. Mid-way into the second half Lionel Messi scored his first goal for PSG at 74 minutes, earning his team a 2 – 0 victory in spectacular fashion.

Liverpool Vs Porto : 5 – 1

Liverpool took home an overwhelming 5 – 1 victory against Porto. Salah opened the scoring for the Reds with an early 18th minute goal. Mané gave the team a 2- 0 lead at halftime. Salah put his name on the scoreboard a second time with a second half goal at 1 hour of play time. Porto managed to land one in the back of Liverpool’s net at 74 minutes; Taremi finding the net for Porto. Liverpool extended their lead with 2 late goals, both scored by Roberto Firmino at 77’ and 81’ minutes, sealing a 5 – 1 victory.
