The army gunned down top Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist and mastermind of deadly Pulwama attack of 2019, Abu Saifullah. He was a Taliban-trained militant and known as Adnan, Ismail and Lamboo residing in Pakistan’s Baahawalpur - the global headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammad(JeM).
Ironically, Saifullah was killed alongwith another terrorist Hangalmarg in Pulwama district itself in its Tral region. Saifullah has been operating in the valley since 2017 and has carried out a series of terror attacks from what is spoken of as his expertise on vehicle-borne-IED. He was closely associated to top terrorists Talha Sauf and Umer, both of who were killed earlier. An army dossier said Saifullah was trying to re-establish and strengthen JeM making Pulwama as hotbed for recruiting new feeder groups and transporting them to varied locations to carry out attacks.
The army personnel recovered an M-4 rifle, AK-47 and a Clock pistol from Saifullah. Security forces have killed 87 terrorists, including some of their top commanders, in Kashmir up to now since January/.
