Thiruvananthapuram : Communist Party of India (Marxist) veteran  and Kerala's former chief minister, V. S. Achuthanandan has been moved to stroke unit of Sree Chitra Medical college today, Saturday.

The 96 year-old leader was admitted to SUT hospital in Pattom yesterday following uneasiness from a blood clot in the brain.

The leader's condition had improved and is satisfactory, but required further neurology treatments, said doctors at SUT, explaining the shift-out.

Chief Minister Pinaryi Vijayan visited the senior politician on Friday.

Achuthanandan served as chief minister from 2006 - 2011.

The seven-time-legislator is presently the chairman of Administrative Reforms Committee and represents Malampuzha constituency in Palaghat district.
