New Delhi : The Supreme Court on Friday said the High Courts must show restraint in while making observations and further that comments not relating to a case should not be indulged into. The ruling came from Bench comprising Justices MR Shah and BV Nagaratna..
Context : A batch of petitioners approached Delhi High Court alleging discrimination in award of contract. During the hearing, the Court suggested that the aggrieved request Prime Minister in the matter and also passed comments on Centre’s “Make In India” scheme.
Following this, the Central Govt petitioned the apex court with regard to the observations. The apex court Bench today also instructed High Court for removal of its superfluous remarks.
