Plus I Seats: Sanction For 97 Temporary Batches s From Palakkad To Kasaragod: Min V Sivankutty

Thiruvananthapurm : Speaking with media Wednesday, the Public Education Minister V Sivankutty said sanction had been received for 97 temporary batches toward Plus I admissions. The additional batches are allowed to ensure every student who  applied for admission gets one, the minister added.

Additional batches are being allotted from districts of Palakkad to Kasaragod. Of the 97 additionals, 57 batches are for government schools and 40 in the aided sector.Under the temporary batches regime,  govt schools are allocated 12 science batches, 35 humanities and 10 science batches while the aided sector will have 5, 17 and 18 respectively.

Earlier, drawing on various districts, 14 batches were pulled into Malappuram district - 12 science batches and 2 in Humanities. Even before admissions started, a 30 percent additional margin to seats were allotted in government schools from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod. Another 20 percent was allotted to all schools and a 10  percent to schools that demanded more seats.

97 additional batches mean 5820 additional seats. Add the previously additional margin to this and there has been a 37,685 more seats taken in government schools and 28,787 additional seats in aided schools this year

Single Window Admissions for Higher Secondary Vocational and Higher Secondary first year started from June 2. There are Four hundred sixty thousand one hundred forty seven (4,60,147) applicants. Total number of Government - Aided Merit Seats is Three Lakhs Seventy Thousand Five Hundred Ninety (3,70,590).

Number of Aided Merit Seats are Three Lakhs Seventy Thousand Five Hundred Ninety (3,70,590). Vocational Higher Secondary Thirty Three Thousand Thirty (33,030) . Unaided Fifty Four Thousand Five Hundred Eighty Five (54,585). So the total number of seats is four lakh fifty eight thousand twenty five (4,58,025).

On completion of the second Supplementary Allotment, the number of students who secure admissions are: two hundred and ninety two thousand six hundred and twenty four (2,92,624) in merit quota, three thousand nine hundred thirty (3,930) in sports quota,nd thirty three thousand eight hundred and fifty four (33,854) , twenty five thousand five hundred and eighty five (25,585) in un-aided quota, summing to a total of 3,76,597, the minister said.

Twenty-seven thousand one hundred and thirty-four (27,134) secured admissions to admitted to the Vocational Higher Secondary. Four hundred three thousand seven hundred and thirty one (4,03,731) students have obtained Plus One admission, the minister said.
