Thiruvananthauram :A local holiday has been declared on 5 Aptil in Thiruvananthapuram city for Painkunni festival at Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple . The District Collector informedt all government institutions and educational institutions in capital limits for closure from 3 pm onward on the day. The holdiday will not apply to public exams.
Painkunni -- the annual festival at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple - starts with hoisting of the ceremonial flag(kodiettu) on Rohini day of Meenam month on Malayalam calendar, and ends on 10th day of Atham.
