New Delhi : Senior Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad prepares to float his own party. Several of his followers have resigned from Congress to join his new setting and according to reports, Gulam Nabi is discussing future course with them. The new party shall be formed before elections in Jammu Kashmir. Also, it will ally with BJP once the polls are over.
Gulam Nabi Azad was awarded Padmabhushan this time and his decision to accept the honour had caused rift within Congress. Incidentally, Gulam Nabi was prominent dissenter of the G 23 group that shot letter in criticism of High Command last year.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had left Congress and formed his own party - the Punjab Lok Congress. That party too allied with BJP. Gulam Nabi Azad was Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir.
