Thiruvananthapuram : The child adoption pertaining to Peroorkada case was done totally compliant with legal requirements, said Minister Veena George in the Assembly on Tuesday. The Child Welfare Director will submit his report on the matter soon, said the minister responding to adjournment motion moved by the Opposition Leader.

DNA tests on one child showed Anupama was not his mother. The other child was adopted by a couple in Andhra Pradesh after due adoption process and it is not yet confirmed if Anupama is the child’s biological mother. Women and Child Development Samiti is conducting probe in that direction. Court procedures pertaining to this too is progressing. Therefore, there is no need to debate the topic further by adjourning the House, the minister said.
