Alappuzha : Alappuzha Area Committee member , A Shanawas, has been suspended from the party in connection with allegations in a drug smuggling incident, said CPI(M) District Secretary R Nassar.
Shahnawas failed to show due caution while renting out his car. An in-depth probe will be conducted into the incident, the District Committee said, adding that, Ijaz Iqbal, the member form Sea View branch has been expelled from the party in the incident.
