At the 24th CPI(M) State Conference, two significant resolutions were introduced. K K Jayachandran's resolution called for urgent action to address Kerala's longstanding land issues, highlighting the challenges stemming from the 1957 land reforms, fraudulent records, and unresolved land titles, particularly in areas like Idukki and Munnar. Meanwhile, V N Vasavan's resolution focused on safeguarding Kerala’s cooperative sector from the central government's interference. It condemned harmful regulations and actions, such as demonetization and GST, which threaten the sector’s stability, and urged the state government to protect key institutions like Kerala Bank, Rabco, and Raidco, ensuring accountability and preventing discrediting efforts by the opposition and media. Both resolutions emphasised the importance of state intervention to protect Kerala's land and cooperative sectors.
