Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said the state is nearing its goal of eliminating landlessness, with more than 410,000 families receiving land title deeds over the past nine and a half years.

According to figures released by the Chief Minister, the government has distributed 4,10,958 title deeds during this period, averaging over 43,000 a year. The data indicates that roughly 120 title deeds were issued each day, or five every hour, as part of the state’s ongoing land reform initiatives.

Vijayan said the Left Democratic Front (LDF) administration has worked to ensure that welfare and development proceed simultaneously in the state. He added that the government remains committed to creating a Kerala where no individual or family is left without land.

The Chief Minister called for collective support to achieve what he described as a longstanding social goal for the state.
